He Lurves the Cake

Warning: Art featured here may include boxy heads, arms of differing length, dumbo ears and people with weird hairdos (and don'ts.)

I need more actual comics in my gallery. I love them, but not as much as cake.

Browse the gallery for cartoons that evidently deteriorate in quality! It's not all bad coursework either, honest! o_0

Y'know, I smile when I see how much my work has improved since my first deviation. And still sucks. (What? I'm not supposed to say that? Too late now...)

Epic Facepalm

Mon Dec 14, 2009, 12:42 PM
Well okay, maybe not so much. But I'm still pretty annoyed.

Right so, I worked my socks off all weekend, knowing that this would be the last time I'd have to work. I was absolutely FROZEN, but I kept going 'cos I needed the cash, and there was about 3 hours to go. By the end, I felt like throwing in the towel, because the shivers were completely racking my whole body. It was terrible...I got my pay and that was that. When I got home, I felt totally awful. I was still twitching and shaking with cold. Then I found out I hadn't been paid for one hour, which is a little annoying. I couldn't wake up this morning, and I felt faint all day today o_0 I had to blow my nose about 10 times while writing this much. I think I caught a bad chill.

Then, chances are I'll now miss what's left of school, and then maybe I won't be allowed to have my operation because aneasthetic (don't question my spelling k's, I'm agitated) + cold = big no for some reason. Why does nothing ever go right?
:iconfacepalmplz:

So, yeah. Ill AGAIN. I am really, really not pleased.

Anyway, I've got a few ideas for some new strips. I also tried making a sprite of Phoenix and Cap'n Noob from scratch but I can't sprite arms very well. I think I'll start by editing something easy like a Pokémon or MegaMan sprite before trying to make my own.

Not long till Chrimbo now. I'm hoping for a laptop still. I don't really care if I get anything this christmas or not since there isn't much I want -_-. I was maybe just going to buy a cheap tablet and Spirit Tracks.

Hi, I'm Jack, and I like drawing stuff, y'know? I like playing games and wondering how they work and who got them there. I also like collecting die cast Minis and Dragon statues for reasons unknown. I also like giving everything an obsessively large outline and bright colours. I also find completely random and or sarcastic remarks rather humorous. I also like saying "I also" and wondering about things. Also, this is me.

I'm currently ploughing through A-Levels so I can hopefully go to University to do an Art orientated course (but which one? Illustration? Animation? One of the two). I'm really into cartoons and their style, and I've fashioned my own unique style. I'm hoping to produce a full-blown comic, in time, so practice, practice, practice!

Errr, Jacktoon? Y'know that picture you mentioned ages ago that Sugimori did of the shiny charizard? well, I don't know where to find an image of it, and I THINK, possibly, it's been ripped and posted as a deviation... by some guy called errormarco55, and I'm not sure am I the kind of person who reports stolen or ripped deviations, 'specially not before comparing it to the one I think has been copied.. D'ya mind checking it out and comparing it? I don't know where to find an image of the original.

"They are scared of legs? Whose legs? Their own legs? Do they try to run away from them? How? What with?"
:iconjacktoon:
That, my friend, is indeed one of the most blatant rip-offs I have ever laid my eyes upon. :shakefist:

The image is an excact copy. The only difference is that the edge has been trimmed off (which, rather co-incidently *cough*, happened to include the (c) Nintendo/Creatures bit at the bottom), and the image is an extremely small resolution in comparison to the original, hinting it may have been copied from an image search engine.

The only other explanantion is that this is an extremely accurate recreation, in which case, it's still a rip off. But at 300x212, and the thoughtless lack of any artist comments, seem to indicate the former.

And thus, I end my comparison.

:salute:

Right... thought so. After checking out this guys profile, turns out he had an older account which had been banned for posting several items of pornography and stolen work (gone now), then he tells people on his new one the name of his old one? Not the "brightest knife in the drawer" to paraphrase an old english teacher. Guess some people don't learn. I suppose I'd better check wheteher its been reported. Darn morals. Or lack of them, I suppose.

:iconjacktoon:
Personally, I would have said "SHARPEST knife in the drawer". Now doesn't that make more sense?

Or to elaborate on his stupidity, maybe "a sandwich short of a picnic" or "one piece short of a full jigsaw puzzle"?

Woo losing the point is fun.

Anyway yeah, I've seen quite a few Sugimori artwork rip-offs. You can usually tell it's a rip if they've uploaded a lot of it, or in quick succession, or write half-bothered comments. I know people could have just done a damn-good copy, but still, it's a COPY and they automatically equal fail anyway...

Oh yeah, I know. The funniest part was the irony... a teacher comments on someone's lack of intellegence, only to say THAT. Epic quote, IMO. I suppose in his case, it'd be a sandwich short of a jigsaw puzzle. Or something. LOL.
