#601, Klinklang, the Gear Pokémon, for the Pokédex Collab at :icondraw-em-all:
Haven't done an animation for a while. So why not.
Just like the Porygon 2 I did [link] , this was drawn in Google Sketchup and animated in GIMP. You know, to make this, I obviously had to build a Klink, then a Klang, and then Klinklang. Seriously, these guys have the most BASE evolution path ever.
I think this turned out better than the Porygon actually. While I was rotating the gears, though, I found the center of rotation kept sliding. That's why the bottom ring slightly rises and then lowers abruptly. Still...it adds a little quirk I guess.
I suppose I should point out this is the shiny colouration too in case you didn't already pick up on that.
EDIT: FFFUUU- just noticed I put too many spokes on the minigears. Durp. Pretend you didn't notice!

Klinklang and Pokémon are (c) Nintendo/Creatures Inc./Game Freak

Oh wow. I wasn't expecting another animation from you! This looks great man!
Altough i really don't like this pokémon, the animation is really smooth. I especially like how the bottom part twirl a little instead of being steady. Also, the kilink rotating faster for a short moment is a nice touch too. ;)

Thanks a lot! ^^ Yeah, it's been a while since I animated something, and y'know, Klinklang doesn't seem to make a lot of sense until you see it moving. (Or rather, it makes a bit more sense; I don't think Klinklang makes that much sense in most contexts to be honest :XD:) I don't like Klinklang much either, but someone had to do it, and it just sort of inspired me to try a 3D animation again. So why not. =p

Wow, you really think so? Thanks muchly! :D And speaking of things you haven't seen in a long time, haha, I was actually really pleasantly surprised to see you leave a comment again. How have you been? I actually got a little concerned, so I hope all is well for you.

Haha. I've been lurking and being shy, it's something I'm good at. I may fall quiet at times, but I'm always watching. Sometimes it's just difficult for me to find words these days.

Is this really WOW-worthy!? Haha, thanks! I just wish I had some more sophisticated animation software/methodology beyond screencapping stills U_U you have to start somewhere though I guess!
